Tango’s getting a teen

31 Mar

Madi turns 13 soon…we can’t believe it! Seems like just yesterday that we were getting her ready for her first day of school.

We had a quiet weekend with some swimming, scootering out on the bridge to try and look at leopard rays (none to be seen), and a trip to the grocery store. When you don’t have a car, grocery store trips are events…and it’s kind of fun that way. We seem to appreciate the full cupboards and shelves more as well, since we work hard to procure that food! Cabs are so cheap here in Marathon that we have walked the 2.5 miles up and cabbed back home, instead of pulling our heavy cart back the whole way.

This weekend we also met a fellow boater who is a young adult fiction author. He signed the first two books in his series and gave them to the girls. Thank you very much, Mr. O’Brien! The girls have delved into the first book, The Land of Whoo, and shall report out next week.
